Guilford County Sheriff's Department
Supplemental Report

1. Incident Number: 951009027
2. Victim's Name: PATRICIA GAIL KIMBLE
3. Day/Date/Time of Report: Mon Sep 9 09:13:08 EDT 1996

4. Narrative: I SPOKE WITH RUBEN BLAKELY BY PHONE ON SATURDAY 07SEPT96 AT 0930HRS. RUBEN STATED THAT TED KIMBLE HAD CALLED HIM ON 06SEPT96. HE STATED THAT TED INFORMED HIM THAT HE COULD NOT TALK TO HIS MOM AND DAD SO HE WAS CALLING HIM IN REFERENCE TO THE HOUSE ON BRANDON STATION COURT. HE STATED THAT HE HAD BEEN PAYING THE PAYMENTS ON THE HOUSE AND THAT WANTED ROBERT (BOB) OWENBAUGH'S PHONE NUMBER OR ADDRESS IF RUBEN HAD IT BECAUSE HE HAD HEARD THAT BOB WANTED TO BUY THE HOUSE. OWENBAUGH IS THE PERSON WHO BUILT THE HOUSE. RUBEN TOLD TED THAT HE DIDN'T KNOW WHERE BOB WAS OR HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH HIM. TED STATED THAT HE HAD BILLS TO PAY AND THE HOUSE NEEDS TO BE PAID OFF AND SOLD. HE FURTHER SAID THAT THE WAY RUBENS MOTHER AND DAD WERE STANDING THAT THEY GOT ONE HALF OF THE PROCEEDS FROM THE HOUSE. TED ALSO SAID THAT HE NEEDED TO PAY PATRICIAS FUNERAL BILL TOO AND RUBEN TOLD HIM THAT HE SHOULD HAVE PAID HER FUNERAL BILL INSTEAD OF BUYING THE MOTORCYCLE. THEY HAD A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE MOTORCYCLE AND RUBEN TOLD HIM THAT IT DIDN'T MATTER WHERE THE MONEY CAME FROM TO BUY THE MOTORCYCLE THAT HE SHOULD HAVE PAID THE FUNERAL BILL INSTEAD OF BUYING THE MOTORCYCLE. TED ALSO TOLD RUBEN THAT HE STILL HAD PATRICIAS ASHES. HE WENT ON TO TELL RUBEN THAT HE WAS LONELY AND THATS WHY HE HAD GOTTEN A GIRLFRIEND, BUT THE QUESTION WAS WHY TED GOT A GIRLFRIEND SO SOON AND WAS OUT DATEING TWO WEEKS AFTER PATRICIAS DEATH.

RUBEN TOLD TED THAT HE BELIEVED THAT IF PATRICIA HAD NEVER MET HIM THAT SHE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE AND TED ANSWER WAS, I'M SORRY YOU FEEL THAT WAY. TED SAID THAT HE COULDN'T TALK TO MRS BLAKELY BECAUSE HE THOUGHT TED WAS INVOLVED IN PATRICIAS MURDER AND RUBEN ASKED TED HOW HE THOUGHT HIM MOM WAS SUPPOSED TO FEEL, WHEN HER ONLY DAUGHTER WAS MURDERED AND HE, (TED) WOULD NOT WORK WITH SOLVING THE CRIME AND ASKED HIM HOW HE WOULD FEEL IF IT WERE HIS DAUGHTER,,,TED DID NOT ANSWER.

TED INQUIRED AS TO HOW RUBEN FELT ABOUT HIM AND RUBEN TOLD HIM THAT HE COULD NOT HELP BUT FEEL HE WAS INVOLVED IN PATRICIAS DEATH AND UNTIL HE FOUND THAT TED WAS NOT INVOLVED IN HER DEATH THAT HE WOULD FEEL THIS WAY AND IF HE FOUND THAT TED WAS NOT INVOLVED THAT HE WOULD APOLOGIZE TO HIM PERSONNALY. TED DID NOT ANSWER HIM AGAIN.

THE WHOLE CONVERSATION BOILED DOWN TO TED WANTING MONEY FROM THE SALE OF, THE HOUSE AND WANTED RUBEN TO TALK TO HIS MOM AND DAD AND GET THE BALL ROLLING TO SELL THE HOUSE.
