Dear Reverend and Mrs. Kimble:
It was nice to meet you yesterday; again, I am sorry that it was
under such. difficult circumstances. I just wanted to briefly
follow-up with you about what you can be doing to help me. As we
discussed, please write down everything you found even slightly
suspicious about the investigation, including the witnesses against
Ronnie, police misconduct, etc. Also, please document everything you
believe might amount to ineffective assistance of trial counsel --
for example, any misleading or inaccurate information given to Ted
or you by any of the trial attorneys, especially Zimmerman and
Crumpler; any pressure that the attorneys applied to Ted to convince
him to plead guilty; etc. Finally, it might assist me if you can
document anything you remember about the conditions of Ted's
confinement during the time period between his guilty plea and
sentencing hearing.
Thank you for all the information you gave me last night. Any
documentation you can provide will help me clarify that information
and may be very useful in a later Motion for Appropriate Relief on
Ted's behalf.
Please know that I will do everything within my power to help Ted. I
will be in touch whenever I file something in Ted's case. In the
meantime, feel free to write or call if you have any questions or
concerns.
Sincerely,
/signature/
