DISCOVERY
MEMORDANDUM
The Reverend L.M. Whidden was interviewed on August 3, 1998 in
regard to the memorandum of his statements of Monday, July 21, 1998.
Reverend Widden confirmed the statements except for minor changes.
He specifically noted that at the time Ronnie Kimble told him he had
killed his sister-in-law Widden had completed one semester of his
studies at Liberty University. He stated he dropped out of school
after Ronnie Kimble admitted killing his sister in law. Widden later
returned to Liberty Bible Institute and completed all but one
semester. He did not complete his studies due to the fact that the
courses he needed were not available at that time. He has since
become a full time pastor and feels that it would be impractical for
him to finish his studies at this time.
Reverend Widden indicated that the
person he talked to was Rev. Jerry Falwell, who was his pastor and
Reverend Falwell referred him to other officials of the University
including his son Jerry Falwell Jr. who is the attorney for the
University.
