Supplemental Report
1. Incident
Number: 951009027
2. Victim's Name: PATRICIA GALE KIMBLE
3. Day/Date/Time of Report: Fri Nov 24 12:25:38 EST 1995
4. Narrative: I
DROVE TO TRADERS CHEVROLET TODAY 24NOV95 AND SPOKE WITH JOHN AUSTIN
AND MIKE ECKSTROM. I SPOKE WITH MIKE FIRST AND HIS STATEMENT TO ME
IS AS FOLLOWS.
HE SAID THAT TED KIMBLE WAS AT TRADERS CHEVROLET ON 16OCT95 AND
WANTED TO LOOK AT A NEW CHEVROLET Z-28 CAMARO. HE SAID TED TOLD HIM
HE WANTED A HIGH PERFORMANCE CAR AND WANTED TO TAKE A TEST DRIVE. HE
SAID THAT TED TOLD HIM THAT HE WAS GOING TO PAY CASH FOR A NEW CAR.
MIKE MADE ARRANGEMENTS AND THEY GOT INTO A NEW Z-28 AND AS THEY
PULLED OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT ONTO BESSMER THAT TED SAID
TO HIM. I'M LOOKING FOR A NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE CAR, MY WIFE DIED IN
A FIRE, SHE WAS MURDERED. MIKE TOLD HIM HE WAS SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT
IT AND TED ASKED HIM IF HE HADN'T READ ABOUT IT IN THE PAPER AND
MIKE SAID HE HADN'T HEARD ABOUT IT AND QUICKLY CHANGED THE SUBJECT
TO THE CAR AND THAT TED SHOULD OBEY THE TRAFFIC LAWS WHILE DRIVING
THEIR CAR. MIKE SAID HE WANTED TO GET AWAY FROM ANY CONVERSATION
ABOUT TEDS WIFE THAT IT WAS VERY ODD THAT ANYONE WOULD SAY ANYTHING
TO HIM THIS WAY AND HE THOUGHT IT WAS STRANGE THE WAY TED BROUGHT
THE SUBJECT UP AND THE WAY HE WAS ACTING ABOUT IT. MI' SAID TED HAD
ALSO TOLD HIM THAT HE WOULD BE COMMING INTO A LOT OF MONEY AND THAT
WAS HOW HE WOULD BE PAYING FOR THE NEW CAR. MIKE RELATED THAT HE
REMEMBERED THINKING THAT THIS GUY KILLED HIS WIFE AND ASSUMED THAT
HE WOULD BE GETTING INSURANCE MONEY AND WAS GOING TO BUY A NEW CAR
WITH THE MONEY.
THEY FINISHED THE TEST DRIVE AND DROVE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND
MIKE-ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT HE WANTED IN THE CAR AND TOLD HIM
WHAT WAS OFFERED IN THE Z-28 AND HOW HE COULD GET WHAT HE WANTED.
TED TOLD HIM THAT HE WOULD BE TRADING IN HIS WIFES OLD CAR THAT IT
HAD A LOT OF MILES ON IT AND THAT THEY HAD MADE SEVERAL TRIPS TO
FLORIDA IN IT AND WOULD JUST GET WHAT HE COULD GET OUT OF IT AND
WOULD PAY THE BALANCE IN CASH. MIKE SAID HE STAYED AWAY FROM ANY
MONEY QUESTIONS BECAUSE AS A RULE HE TALKED ABOUT MONEY, PAYMENTS,
ETC. AFTER HE WAS PRETTY SURE A DEAL WAS GOING TO BE MADE. MIKE SAID
HE CAME ON TO HIM LIKE A SERIOUS CAR SHOPPER, NOT A TIRE KICKER
MIKE SAID THAT ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER AT THE CAR SHOW AT THE COLISUEM
THAT HE SAW TED LOOKING A THE NEW CARS THERE, BUT THAT HE NEVER
SPOKE TO HIM. HE SAID THERE WAS TWO GUYS WITH TED THAT WERE ABOUT
THE SAME AGE AS TED.
WHEN THE TEST DRIVE WAS OVER HE LET JOHN AUSTIN, THE NEW CAR MANAGER
TALK TO TED WHICH IS A STANDARD THING SALES REPRESENTATIVES DO WHEN
A PERSON IS A PRESPECTATIVE BUYER.
