Guilford
County Sheriff's Department 1. Incident
Number: 951009027 4.
Narrative: ON TUESDAY THE 10TH AT 1840 HRS I SPOKE WITH MR FRYAR WHO
LIVES JUST ACROSS THE ROAD, THE HOUSE ON THE CORNER OF HWY.22 AND
BRANDON STATION ROAD. MR FRYAR STATED THAT ON THE 09TH BETWEEN 1830
AND 1900 HE SAW SMOKE IN THE TREES AND OUT INTO THE FIELD AT THE
REAR OF THE KIMBLE HOUSE. MR FRYAR IS SURE OF WHAT HE SAW AND AT THE
TIME HE SAW IT BECAUSE HE TOOK HIS DAUGHTER TO CHEERLEADING PRACTICE
AT PLEASANT GARDEN AT 1800 HRS. AND DROVE HOME AND GOT OUT HIS LAWN
MOWER AND WAS IN THE YARD AND LOOKED ACROSS THE ROAD AND SAW THE
SMOKE. FRYAR STATED THAT THE SMOKE WAS LOW AND PROBABLY WAS NOT OVER
5 OR 6 FEET OFF THE GROUND. HE SAID HE KNEW MR COBLE BURNED LEAVES
AND OTHER THINGS AND THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE SAME THING AND DIDN'T
THINK ANYTHING ELSE OF IT AT THE TIME I TALKED TO
MR FRYER AGAIN ON THE 12TH WHEN HE HAD WALKED TO THE DRIVEWAY OF THE
VICTIMS HOUSE AND HE TOLD THE EXACT SAME STORY TO ME AND TO FIRE
INSPECTOR ED RICH. 5. Reporting Officer/Assignment: DET. J.D. CHURCH 18
