CASE SUMMARY
1. This investigation was reopened on 11JUN96 following additional requests for assistance from the Guilford County (NC) Sheriff's Department (GCSD) into the murder of V/KIMBLE. Detective Jim CHURCH, GCSD, asked that NCIS prepare a photographic line-up depicting V/KIMBLE's brother-in-law, LCPL Ronnie Lee KIMBLE, USMC, MCB, Camp Lejeune, NC. Additionally, GCSD asked for assistance in obtaining a local address for LCPL KIMBLE's spouse asked to ascertain if LCPL KIMBLE has a friend or acquaintance who owns a dark blue Camero. It was also requested that a friend of LCPL KIMBLE by the name of SILVERTHORN be located and interviewed relative to his association with LCPL KIMBLE.
 

2. Between 11JUN96 and 13JUN96, a photographic line-up, along with the interview of CPL Neil Donald SILVERTHORN, USMC, 401-13-5761, was accomplished, Exhibits (1) and (2) pertain. Relative to the other aforementioned requests, Detective J. D. CHURCH advised they located the Dark Blue Camero and LCPL KIMBLE's wife and no longer needed those particular leads to be completed by NCIS.
 

3. The above action concludes the latest requests for assistance. However, this investigation will remain open pending any additional leads from GCSD in the near future.
 

4. This investigation is being conducted under NC State Criminal Statues for Homicide. This investigation, along with the attached exhibits, are being forwarded to Detective J. D. CHURCH, GCSD, for law enforcement purposes.
