Mr. Jamie Gales stated that he knew William Stewart (Nickname
"Squirrel"), He knew him from Poke Youth Center-- met him in 1993.
They were together about 5 to 6 months. He stated that William
Stewart was a trip- he was a character. He never believed anything
he said.
He later saw Stewart in 1998— there at Troy Unit, He saw Stewart one
day while they were walking in the yard-- that was the first time
they saw each other there-- they spoke for a minute. He saw Stewart
again about one week later. He said Stewart wanted some shoes and a
radio -- so he could lay down- check off- then go home.
About two weeks later Stewart went into the hole - then Jamie said
he had to go in the hole for something - they then got out and
joined up with Ted Kimble in a cell block. Jamie said Ted Kimble
would not talk to anybody - and every body knew William Stewart was
crazy.
Jamie said he never talked to Ted Kimble. He saw Ted and William
talking one time. He said Ted slept on the top bunk and William
slept on the bottom bunk and so did he. Jamie said he liked to stay
up at night and William would also stay up at night.
Jamie said at first he thought Ted was a homosexual-- but now knows
he is not.
A man named "Sico" told Jamie that "Dude" on the top bunk was
crazy-- meaning Ted. Then Stewart told him that Ted was crazy

(Ted). He told him you better leave that dude alone. Stewart told
him that Ted had a radio and a roll of stamps in his locker — that
he was going to get.
William Stewart told him that Ted had to go back to court for
killing his wife. William Stewart told him (Jamie) that he was
telling Ted Kimble that he (Stewart) was a hit man. He said that Ted
didn't believe him but he was trying to get Ted to believe him -
because he was trying to get Ted's money, He said that he had some
papers of peoples names that Ted gave him-- that he was going to
kill them. He (Jamie) said William was not going to kill anyone,
just wanted to get out and get Ted's money. Jamie said he never saw
Stewart with any kind of papers.

about what Stewart wanted to do--- Ted didn't go to Stewart_ Jamie
said he would tell what happened in court.

Mr. Gary
Durham
Southern Correctional Facility
Glenn Rd.
Troy, NC 27371
White Male - Serving Time – Drugs & Hijack/Car
RE: CLIENT - THEODORE MEAD KIMBLE
AND
SUBJECT - WILLIAM STEWART
Mr. Gary Durham stated that he was serving time for drugs and car
hijacking in Eden, NC. He stated that he knew Ted Kimble from being
there at Southern Correctional. Mr. Durham said that Ted had not
tried to hire nobody to kill anybody. He said when Ted came there
they put him in a block.
He said that Ted came from a good family and had a good life. He
didn't know that the people in prison would do anything or say
anything for a cigarette or phone call. He said that Ted's parents
would come to see him and give him food and money— so they (inmates)
would try to get in with Ted.
He said he (Gary) was in the same block with William Stewart. He
said Ted asked him of his opinion of William Stewart. He told Ted he
(Stewart) was out for what he could get from him — he was trash.
Ted told him
that Stewart was going to help him. Gary asked how is he going to
help you? Ted said William was going to get out of prison soon and
he offered to talk to some of the witnesses. Gary told Ted if
Stewart went near any of the witnesses in a case against you it
would make you look bad. Gary said he told William Stewart that he
was trying to use Ted to get money out of him. William told Gary
that he needed to mind his own business— that was his response. He
told William that he was not going to let him use Ted. He said
anybody at Southern that tried to help Ted was placed in the hole
(segregation).

Gary said
one time they were coming back from church and he was behind Ted and
William. He heard William tell Ted— you know what I can do if you
don't give me that money. Ted told
Stewart that I don't have that money. William said he could go to
the District Attorney. Gary
said that William Stewart benefited from telling what he did on Ted
Kimble. Gary said that this whole thing is bull shit from day one.
Mr. Durham
said he knew about the plan to kill those people-- Ted came to him
and told him Stewart made this plan. He said if Ted Kimble wanted
people killed he felt that as close as he and Ted became -- Ted
would have asked him to do something. William Stewart told Ted how
the court Rooms were located in Greensboro and Ted scratched it off
for him.
Mr. Durham
told Ted if the witnesses would disappear your ass would be in
trouble. Ted said - I don't want anybody hurt or killed.
Mr. Durham
said William Stewart was a liar, leach, and not honest. He said
William went to Ted and told him he was a hit man and if anybody
wanted someone killed he was the man to do it. He said Ted might
have given William a small amount of money. Ted gave him (Gary) two
bucks one time. He said Ted got his money from his parents. Ted
always had food. Ted was a Mom's boy.
Gary said he first thought Ted was a homosexual because Ted was
quiet-- kept to himself— didn't want any trouble-- and looked weak.
He thought he might be— but found that he was not.
He said he would come to court if it would help Ted.

lock up. He said the majority of what he knew about Ted Kimble. He

was soft spoken-- not aggressive— laid back.
Mr. McClain said he never knew William was going to kill anybody. He
said Ted told him that he

there opened the cell door and someone got his radio. He believed
William got same and sold it to someone on the other side of the
