Dear Dr. Young:
Enclosed herewith you will find my Motion and Order in Ronnie Lee
Kimble's case appointing you to evaluate him for a sleep disorder
with a budget set at $2,000 to cover your time and expenses. I was
earlier advised by Dr. Charles G. Guyer, who did a psychological
evaluation, that you may he willing to accept this case and so I
went ahead and had the judge appoint you. I hope you will accept the
appointment.
We have a fairly extensive medical report from the United States
Marine Corps detailing steps they took with regard to the sleep
disorder and also a report from Dr. Guyer. If you are willing to
accept this case, I would like to meet with you at your convenience
and give you some background information and turn over Dr. Guyer's
and the Marine Corps reports.
Ronnie Kimble is
an interesting and attractive young man in jail without bond and
charged with the death for hire of his sister-in-law. This is a
death penalty case. We believe that a chronic sleep disorder is a
factor in the case. We also believe our client is innocent.

I will be available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week to
discuss this matter over the telephone or meet with you. Of course,
Charles Guyer knows a lot about the case and my co-counsel, David
Lloyd, telephone number 691-0550, will also be happy to discuss this
matter sooner if that would be more convenient.
Very truly
yours,
