LAWRENCE CLAPP, THE PASTOR OF SOUTH ELM ST. BAPTIST CHURCH SAID HE WAS TED AND PAT KIMBLE'S PASTOR. HE HAS BEEN THEIR PASTOR FOR ABOUT FOUR YEARS. HE SAID BOTH HAVE BEEN VERY ACTIVE MEMBERS AND PAT HAS TAUGHT CLASSES IN THE CHURCH. PAT WAS MORE ACTIVE THAN TED, PAT WAS VERY OUTGOING AND TALKED TO EVERYONE, TED WAS JUST THE OPPOSITE AND DIDN'T HAVE MUCH TO SAY. I HAVE BEEN IN THEIR HOUSE MANY TIMES AND HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY, THEY SEEM TO BE A LOVING COUPLE WITH NO MARRIAGE PROBLEMS. I EVEN LET MY KID GO TO THEIR HOUSE AND STAY,A SOMETIMES THEY WOULD TAKE THEM HOME FROM CHURCH AND KEEP THEM ALL AFTERNOON. PAT WAS THE LEADER OF THE FAMILY. ABOUT TWO WEEKS BEFORE PATS DEATH, THEY HAD A PARTY AND INVITED SEVERAL YOUNG PEOPLE FROM THE CHURCH, THERE WERE ABOUT 50 PEOPLE THERE. LAWRENCE SAID HE WAS PART OF THERE WEDDING, BUT TEDS FATHER PERFORMED THE CEREMONY. TED AND PAT WERE MEMBERS OF THE YOUNG MARRIED CLASS THE TEACHERS IN THAT CLASS ARE RODNEY SIMPSON AND CHUCK BOTTOMLY. THE NIGHT PAT WAS KILLED I WENT TO THE HOUSE ON BRANDON STATION COURT TO BE WITH THE FAMILY. I GOT TED AND HIS MOTHER IN MY CAR AND CARRIED THEM BACK TO THE CHURCH AND TRYED TO COMFORT THEM. THERE WERE ABOUT 100 MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH THAT SHOWED UP THAT NIGHT.  MYSELF AND TED WENT IN THE MAIN PART OF THE CHURCH AND JUST SAT AND TALKED TED SAID SEVERAL TIMES HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN HOME MOWING THE YARD INSTEAD OF HER AND SHE MIGHT BE ALIVE.B LAWRENCE SAID MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH TOOK UP A LOVE OFFERING AND GAVE IT TO TED ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15, 1995, THE AMOUNT WAS $1,100.00. I TOLD MR. CLAPP ABOUT TED BUYING A MOTORCYCLE ON MONDAY AND HE SAID HE COULD HARDLY BELIEVE IT. LAWRENCE CLAPP SAID PAT HAD NOT CONFIDED IN HIM OR TALKED WITH HIM ABOUT ANY PROBLEM SHE WAS HAVING WITH ANYONE.C
