4. Narrative: AFTER HAVING ID TECH CROSS AND HIGH POINT POLICE DEPT. ID OFFICER COMPARE THE SIGNATURE OF PATRICIA KIMBLE ON THE LIFE OF GEORGIA INSURANCE APPLICATION AND THEIR REPLY TO ME THAT THE SIGNATURE OF PATRICIA WAS FORGED SGT DeBERRY AND I WENT TO LYLES BUILDING MAT. TO SEE TED KIMBLE.
THE DATE WAS TODAY OCTOBER 19, 1995 AND THE TIME WAS 1435 HRS. WE PARKED OUTSIDE THE GATE AND WALKED IN THE LOT AND TED WAS WORKING ON HIS MOTORCYCLE. I ASKED HOW HE WAS DOING AND HE SAID OK, TRYING TO DODGE PEOPLE LIKE YOU'ALL, AND ASKED DO YOU HAVE GOOD NEWS.
SGT DeBERRY REPLYED, YES AND NO, AND WENT ON TO TELL HIM THAT THE GOOD NEWS WAS THAT WE WOULD GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS HOMOCIDE AND CLEAR IT. AND THE BAD NEWS WAS THAT WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE LIFE INSURANCE POLICE APPLICATION HAD BEEN FORGED AND THAT HE DID NOT WANT ANY BS ABOUT^A IT AND WANTED TO KNOW WHO FORGED IT AND WANTED TO KNOW RIGHT THEN. TED HUNG HIS HEAD AND SGT DEBERRY ASKED IF HE WANTED TO TELL US THERE OR GO IN THE OFFICE.
TEDS FATHER HAD ALSO COME UP AND TED HAD TOLD HIM THAT HE NEEDED TO TALK TO US ALONE AND HIS FATHER WALKED AWAY TO ANOTHER PART OF THE LOT.^B
WE WALKED IN TEDS OFFICE AND TED SIT DOWN AND SGT DEBERRY SAID I WANT TO KNOW WHO FORGED THE SIGNATURE AND TED REPLYED, "I FORGED IT",^C AND SGT DEBERRY SAID WHY? TED SAID THAT HE HAD GONE HOME WITH THE PAPERS AND THAT HIS WIFE HAD HAD A HARD DAY AT THE OFFICE AND SOMEONE HAD CURSED HER OUT AT WORK AND SHE WAS VERY UPSET AND HE JUST SIGNED HER NAME.
THIS IS INCONSISTANT WITH THE BILL JARRELL THE INSURANCE AGENT WHO SAID HE TOOK THE PAPERS BY LYLES BUILDING MAT. AND THAT TED TOOK THE PAPERS IN THE OFFICE WHERE PATRICIA WAS AND THAT HE BROUGHT THEM BACK SIGNED AND JARRELL JUST ASSUMED THAT PATRICIA HAD SIGNED.

^A[unreadable] They came up wanting to speak to me privately and I said, here is fine, [unreadable].  By this point they were on my last nerve!  When DeBerry made the BS comment I looked him in the eye and said, "I signed it."  They both smiled at one another and turned to me and said may be you would like to step into the office and explain.

^BMy Dad came walking up and the detectives told him they wanted to speak with me alone.  I lead the way to my office.  As we entered my off I said to DeBerry following me "Your as stupid as you look, if you think I signed her name on an insurance policy and then had her knocked off."  DeBerry says "I'd watch how you sat that Mr. Kimble."  He was ticked.  He ask how it came about.  I said, I was suppose to get her to sign it and the agent would pick it up the following day. I got home Patricia had been cursed out at work and was upset.  I forgot about the insurance.  The agent came the following day and I signed it.  Patricia knew about the insurance and that I signed her name.  DeBerry says they'll be back in touch and storms out.  Church trys to act like my friend and says, "we'll work things out Mr. Kimble if you need anything feel free and call me."
