Ted Kimble's handwritten notes are included.
Guilford County Sheriff's Department
I WAS FRIENDS WITH
TED AND PATRICIA BEFORE THEY WERE MARRIED AND AFTER. WE WHET TO THE
SAME CHURCH TOGETHER. I TALKED TO HER AT CHURCH ON SUNDAY 08OCT95.
WE JUST TALKED NORMALLY ABOUT HOW THINGS WERE GOING. SINCE PATRICIA
DIED I HAVE TALKED TO TED SEVERAL TIMES. IT'S ALL BEEN ABOUT RENTING
THEIR HOUSE OUT ON BRANDON STATION COURTA
AND ABOUT HIM RENTING A HOUSE WHILE HIS HOUSE IS BEING REPAIRED.
I NEVER SAW A ARGUEMENT BETWEEN TED AND PATRICIA. I KNOW TED IS AFTER THE INSURANCE MONEY AND HE HAS ASKED ME HOW LONG I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE BEFORE HE WOULD GET ANY MONEY. I TOLD HIM THERE WAS NO WAY THEY WOULD PAY UNTIL HER MURDER WAS CLEAR AND HE WASN'T A SUSPECT.
I HAVE SINCE CHANGED MY MIND AND TOLD TED WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT CHURCH THAT I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT THE WHOLE LEASE AGREEMENT AND I THOUGHT IT WAS INSURANCE FRAUD AND THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO MANAGE THE PROPERTY AND THAT HE NEEDED TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE.
I TALKED TO TEDS FATHER AT LYLES AND HE SAID HE DIDN'T SEE ANY PROBLEM WITH RENTING HIS HOUSE TO TED, BECAUSE HE AND HIS WIFE WERE GOING ON VACATION.
(121) (*See next Page 122 I wrote the whole Truth) A--I never spoke of "renting the house" on Brandon Station I ask how much a house that size rents for. Jenifer Hall had classes with detective DeBerry. They seem to know each other pretty good the way she talked. I'd let my father read this. He never called her. Jenifer had first told me this was legal. That's howshe got involved while at church. I ask her if it was legal for me to rent my parents house. She said yes. I ask her if she ever did these type of things she said yes and could handle it. She handled everything. After it was over she said I hadn't done anything wrong, she had. She had stated Hunt's Tax Services as the owner instead of my parents. After it was over I called and went over to her office to find out what the insurance detective who just left my office was talking about. B--The house rental was only $1200 dollars. The insurance company had promise me $50 a day in the beginning. This promise was before I even spoke to Jenifer. It would adverage $1500 a month. It was going to save the insurance company $300 a month, but you know how insurance companies are. Needless to say when it came time for the insurance deposition I made sure to bring this promise up. After they paid off they tried to get out of paying it until I pointed it out in the deposition. My parents billed the company and they paid. The total was $17000 some dollars. Jenifer once started chasing me and Patricia told her to stay away. This was before we were married. SIGNED

me-Ted Kimble - (TK) Maryland company adjuster Marie Bartello - (MB) local sub adjuster Gary Britt/Fields (GB) - Field's adjusters services Company investigator flown in Gary Reilly - (GR) Jenifer Hall -(JH) Week after the house burned, TK spoke to M.B. about a place to stay. TK stated he was staying with his parents and hated to take advantage of them. M.B. said the company would pay them. TK ask what was fair. M.B. ask TK's opinion. TK states a motel room would cost $50-$80 with no utilities or meals. How about $50 a day. M.B. agreed. A week later while at South Elm Bapt Ch. TK ask J.H. how much a 1500 sq ft house fully furnished house would rent for in the SE Guilford area, comparing this to the house at 2104 Brandon Station Ct. JH said it would be hard to find such a house. J.H. said $1200 to $1500. TK said his policy stated he was intitled to a comparable dwelling to that in which he had lived. TK ask if he was allowed legally to rent his paents house. J.H. said yes, as long as the parent's are NOT living there also. JH went on to say that she handled similar situations, where the parents rented a child a house the parent owned. This would make the child more accountable. T.K. ask if she could do this for him with the insurance paying. J.H. said she charges 10%. TK said he would speak to the insurance company. TK had spoken to GB and MB before asking JH and they had o.k.ed TK to seek out such a house. TK told GB & MB about JH. G.B. and J.H. spoke and JH brought papers by and left them at Lyles with Ronnie Kimble to be signed. TK may have spoken to JH between times of JH dropping off papers. TK signed at the X. TK can't recall if the blanks on the forms were filled in. JH comes by Lyles & picks them up or TK returns them at church on Wednesday night - can't recall which. (over)
continue -- J.H. working with GB sent GB a copy of the lease agreement (read now page 155). Rev. Ron & Edna Kimble would live in Ron Jr trailer while TK rented their house. The day a check was to be cut JH calls TK and says she doesn't feel comfortable with all of this. TK ask what was wrong and JH said there could be problems and she doesn't want to be involved. TK didn't push it and said OK and calls GF and says never mind he will stay with his parents at $50 a day. The lease was $1200 a month, at $50 a day it would be $1500 a month. TK believes GR had paid a visit to JH and scared her because a few days later GR shows up at Lyles asking about insurance fraud. When GR showed up at Lyles he stated he was coming from seeing JH. GR said he did some checking and found Ron and Edna owned the property at 6318 Liberty Rd. The lease agreement stated Hunt's Tax Services as the owners. TK said he didn't know false information was given. GR ask if the parents were going to also be living there and TK said no. They would stay at Ron Jr's. GR press to know who would get the money. TK made it clear Ron & Edna. GR ask if they were going to give it to TK, No. Rev Ron was watching on the camera in the next office. TK didn't give a statement. GR also stated he had check on the purchase of $5000 worth of comforters and bath supply's. He had made sure TK hadn't returned them for cash. TK said anytime GR would like to see the items he could. GR left aggravated having not gotten anywhere. (Back of p 127) continue -- TK wanted to find out what had happened. TK contacted JH and went over to see her the next day. JH said she had made a miss-take when filling out the papers, by claiming Hunt's Tax Services owned the house. JH said it was her fault and wasn't TK's. TK never seen GR again. The deposition was held not long after. The reason GR was all over the lease agreement with TK is because TK never stated wh owned the house. TK had little to do with the whole transaction. When TK notified GB of finding a house, TK let GB & JH work it out. TK tried to stay out of it. When TK told GB about finding a house, TK stated the address was 6318 Liberty Rd and put JH GB in touch with one another.
